: Rick Silverman; Rick Silverman grew up in Northern California and attended school there. He then got involved in the civil rights movement and with other community organizations. After college, he worked with migrants as a tomato picker and then worked for a Vista program. Rick moved to Seattle and pursued his PHD in political science, before moving to Telluride in the 1970's. Rick thought Telluride was a good place to "hide-out." In Telluride, Rick was the Telluride Mountain Film's program director. Rick was also a member of the School Board at Telluride School District and a self-proclaimed unabashed liberal progressive. Rick continued to be involved in politics in Telluride and loves participatory democracy. Rick also was an avid skier and started a helicopter skiing business in Telluride.
