: Archa J. "A.J." Dodgion; Darwin Burford's grandfather. A.J. originally lived in Georgia, and was a Confederate soldier in the Southern Army during the Civil War. U.S. Census records show him living in La Veta, Colorado with his wife and children by 1880. He worked as a cattleman in Colorado and passed away because of a heart attack in Whitewater, Colorado. Father of Mary (Dodgion) Burford.

: Archie "Arch" Tilton; He was born in Des Moines, Iowa to E.L. Tilton, a farmer, and to Sarah L. (Gerard) Tilton, a homemaker. He homesteaded near Holyoke, Colorado and then came to Palisade, Colorado sometime between 1917 and 1924. With George Bowman, he participated in the establishment of the Palisades National Bank and hired his brother, Forrest Tilton, as a cashier. He also had fruit orchards, ran a fruit association, and worked as a depot agent/station master for the railroad.

: Archie Bliss; He was an artist and member of the Beaux Arts Club. He also put on stage and theatrical performances as fundraisers for the early Grand Junction Junior College.

: Archie R. Craig; He was born in Illinois. He traveled to Mesa, Colorado in a covered wagon in 1886, building and homesteading a cabin for his family in the area. He was both the doctor and dentist in Mesa; his office, medicine, and tools were all in the kitchen of their home. He also raised cattle, established a dairy where he made and shipped butter, and helped establish the first telephone service and running water for homes in the area. His daughter, oral history interviewee Anna Clark, suspected that he was one of several masked men who helped run several hundred sheep off of a cliff during an annual sheep drive from Utah into Colorado. This later resulted in prosecution of several local men by sheepherders, including Archie Craig, but testimony on his whereabouts by Craig's mother exonerated him.
