Ellen (Page) Lannon

She was a classmate of Dalton Trumbo at Grand Junction High School. She also attended the Hoel Business College. She married Robert Lannon and they had one son, James “Jim” Lannon. The 1940 US Census shows her as divorced from Lannon, living in Grand Junction and working as a timekeeper.

She was the owner of a popular millenary store on the north side of Main Street between 4th and 5th Streets in the early days of Grand Junction.

Ellen Lucille (Heacock) Bonnifield

Ellen's first career was as a Librarian at the Denver Public Library in many departments from branch libraries to Bookmobiles. After a brief stint at the Colorado State Library as a Western Slope Consultant, she became the first librarian at the Leadville campus of Colorado Mountain College. She taught Library Science at Panhandle State University and as an extension class for Colorado Northwestern Community College. She also taught College Algebra for Math-phobic adults. Her next full time career was as a teacher at Soroco Elementary School in Yampa, CO.
She has also been a part time radio DJ and announcer. She is a two time Judge for the Spur Award for the Western Writers Association. She has been a Ditch Rider and writes poetry (and won awards for her poems). She leads Nature Journaling workshops for the Colorado Crane Festival in Steamboat, and has been clothing superintendent at the Routt County Fair. She has been the Yampa Weather observer for almost 30 years.
