- Emile Etchart
- He was born in the Basque region of France to Fernand Etchart and Jeanne Gomiz. He immigrated to the United States. Social Security records show that he had arrived at least by 1956. Like most Basque at the time, he most likely came to the country on a visa that specified he must work as a shepherd. He was involved in the sheep ranching business. He lived in the town of Fruita, Colorado. He married Anna Louise Arcuby in Mesa County on September 29, 1969. He died at the age of 57 and is buried in Fruita’s Elmwood Cemetery.
