- Gratia Emma (Johnston) Vogely
- She was born in Aspen, Colorado but never lived there, growing up instead in Fruita where her mother had purchased property. Her father, who had been the superintendent of the Molly Gibson Mine, died when she was two. Her mother, Emma Johnston was a farmer and a widowed single mother who took in male borders to make ends meet. Gratia married William Chinn in 1922. She later married John J. Vogely in 1949.

- He was a radio DJ in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the 1950's. He then came to Grand Junction, Colorado, where he worked for KREX.
