- Irene (Strimple) Gramlich
- She was born in Kansas. Her mother was a tubercular, and they moved to Colorado in 1913, when Irene was 9. She grew up in Cedaredge, and Delta, Colorado. She suffered a serious spine injury at a young age, and played mostly by herself and read books as a child. Her father was a school teacher, and Irene became a teacher herself in Placerville, Paradox, and Naturita.
