John Raymond Brumgardt
-
Former director of the Museums of Western Colorado. He was born in Riverside, California and received his PhD in American History from University of California Riverside in 1974, when he was 28. He worked for several museums and public entities as director or in a historical capacity, including the Museums of Western Colorado from 1978-84. With Al Look and Robert “Bob” Collins, he served on Grand Junction’s Centennial Committee, which celebrated the town’s centennial anniversary in 1981.
After leaving Grand Junction, he became the director of the Charleston Museum in Charleston, South Carolina, where, according to that museum's website, he was credited with modernizing the museum and creating a coherent organizational structure. He served as the director there for thirty years.

John Riddle

He was born in Larimer County, being the son of early Colorado pioneers. He ranched in northern Colorado and Wyoming, but left the area because of dangerous blizzards. He moved to Paradox Valley, Colorado in Montrose County in 1920.

John Robert Dickey

He was born in Texas and later moved to Grand Junction. He was a railroad worker and a member of the Handy Chapel congregation, the town's historically Black church. He married Josephine Taylor in Grand Junction on August 12, 1939. They had two daughters, Barbara & Helen, and two sons, Vernon & Irving. He served in the US infantry during World War I.
