Marie Biglin
She was born in Utah and grew up in the Nucla, Colorado area, where her father was one of the first white men to settle. After finishing high school, she worked for four years as a legal secretary in Denver before returning to Nucla. There, she raised a family and was the office manager for the Rural Electrification Administration Nucla Regional Office for twenty years.
Marie Ellen (Corn) Tipping
She was born in Grand Junction, Colorado to George Wallace Corn and Muriel Marie (Davis) Corn. Her father was a contractor and heavy equipment operator for Corn Construction. Her mother was a homemaker. She attended Grand Junction High School, graduating in 1963. She married Ronald Eugene Tipping on August 12, 1964. Her great-grandparents on her father’s side, Thad Duckett and Sarah (McCracken) Duckett, were early settlers of Mesa County. They farmed in Pear Park, on D Road, and owned a sawmill on Pinon Mesa.
