- According to the 1900 US Census record, he was born in Ohio. He became a farmer in Kirwin, Kansas. He married Mary Hoover and they had several children. According to his daughter Mary (Powers) Plaisted, he was a “proud Irishman” who never attended church in their town in Kansas because the town lacked a Catholic church. He is buried in Kansas.
