Mr. Wickes
According to oral history interviewee Eugene Perry, Wickes was the proprietor of the Wickes Hotel, which was located to the west of the St. Regis Hotel on Colorado Avenue in the early Twentieth century. He lived near 7th Street and Orchard Avenue. He developed a cancer which disfigured his face. He was apparently a kind man who would give Lorna Doon cookies to children.
