Nancy Waring Nottingham

In 1952, Nancy Waring attended the University of Colorado (CU) in Boulder. In 1956, Nancy met her husband, Maurice “Mauri” Nottingham; they married after her graduation from CU. Mauri, whose family were early ranchers (1882) in the Avon area, taught at CU until they moved to the Gore Creek Valley in the early 1960s. In 1968, the Nottinghams built the Talisman Lodge. Nancy was a member of the inaugural Board of Trustees for the Eagle Valley Community Fund (EVCF) and creatively steered various children’s educational programs. The Nottinghams have three daughters, Kim, Tamra and Shelley. Nancy and Mauri Nottingham were married 62 years at the time of Mauri's death 28 February 2018. Currently, Nancy is an active volunteer at the Eagle County Historical Society museum in Eagle.

Nancy West was born on September 12th, 1946 in Marion, Indiana. She received a PhD in Education from the University of Michigan. Nancy and her husband, Terry, have two daughters. Together, Nancy and Terry were the owners of West Antiques in Lafayette, CO and contributed in myriad ways to the city.
