Otto Peterson
A game warden for the State of Colorado who worked as a fish culturist on the Grand Mesa, and later in Meeker. According to fellow game warden John Duncan Hart, he was very clean and fastidious in his habits. He “grew up over a campfire and he knew how to live in the woods.” He would often eat raw fish, and would sometimes eat jerky confiscated from poachers before it could get turned in for evidence. He would make difficult and risky arrests of poachers. He was from Cedaredge.
