Hawthorne School, Grand Junction, Colorado 410 Hill Avenue Grand Junction Mesa Colorado 81501 USA A school built at 4th Street and Hill Avenue in Grand Junction, Colorado in 1908. Shortly after its construction, the adjoining Walnut Park (one of the four that the city established in 1882) was renamed Hawthorne Park to match the name of the school. This was in keeping with the city's practice of giving parks and adjoining schools the same names. At its inception, the school taught grades 1-8. In the 1960's, it held special education classes.
