<marmot:placeNotes>A red brick, two story building that replaced Fruita's Second School, which had been in operation from 1884-1887. The building became known as the Central School in 1894, when an addition was built. Beginning in 1890, high school classes were held in the building's upstairs, with the high school referred to as Central High School in Fruita. K-8 courses were taught downstairs. The building, though large, was still overcrowded. It was torn down in 1935.
