<marmot:placeNotes>A main artery in downtown Grand Junction. It meets Broadway where it extends over the Colorado River and enters the Redlands, just west of town. The bridge on Grand, which crosses both a railyard and the river, replaced a bridge from Main Street that used to be, along with the Black Bridge, the main route into the Redlands. At one time, Grand Avenue also continued east out of town onto East Grand Avenue (now D ½ Road). When the railyard was built, Grand was discontinued as a through street and now ends at 28 Road.</marmot:placeNotes>
