Seventh Street, was at 634 Main Street. The building served as the home of the Sentinel's operations and also as a community center of sorts on special occasions. During the World Series, people gathered at the Sentinel building to watch as a Sentinel employee marked changes in the score on a large scoreboard. During local and national elections, people gathered in the lobby of the Sentinel building after 7 pm to monitor returns, forming a large crowd by 10 pm. During election nights, Walter Walker usually emerged from his office and came out to talk to the local people, bringing certain prominent citizens back to his office for further discussion.
