Mesa County Fairgrounds (first location), Grand Junction, Colorado Grand Junction Mesa Colorado USA According to Little Book Cliff Railway expert Lyn Lampert, the train passed by the Mesa County Fairgrounds location on its way to Carpenter. In the late 1880's and perhaps earlier, the fairgrounds were located north of the tracks along what is now Bookcliff Avenue between 7th Street and Little Bookcliff Drive. During the 1890 Mesa County Fair, five or six trains a day took people from the train's downtown depot to the fair.
