Ela House, Grand Junction, Colorado 1895 1006 Main Street Grand Junction Mesa Colorado 81501 USA A Victorian home built by the Grand Junction Town Company at 1006 Main Street in 1895, in order to encourage settlement on the fringes of downtown's original plat. According to researcher David Sundal, it was owned originally by Addison J. McCune, who was the county surveyor, and then purchased by Wendell Phillips Ela, an early Glade Park rancher and mayor of Grand Junction. According to William McHarg Ela, who grew up there, the house had a large stable where his grandfather kept his horses and kept pigeons in the attic. It was a place where all of the neighborhood children played. It has a cast iron fence that is original to the home. It is now the home of the Colorado West Land Trust. yes yes
