<marmot:placeNotes>A prominent home built by William Clarence Kurtz in the Lincoln Park Addition, which Kurtz developed along with Clyde Biggs. The home, built at 1259 Gunnison Avenue in 1925, was modeled in the Spanish Mission architectural style popular at the time. This same style is echoed in many parts of the Lincoln Park Addition. Kurtz was the owner of a wholesale lumber and hardware business. The 1930 US Census shows him living in the home with his wife, Edna Kurtz, their three children, and a servant.</marmot:placeNotes>
