Dead Horse Canyon, Montrose County, Colorado USA A canyon to the west of Little Park Road shortly beyond Grand Junction on the ascent up to Glade Park. According to oral history interviewee John Collier, ranchers and farmers who had horses that had died would transport their dead horses into the canyon by dray wagon and leave them there. Collier also recalled playing in the canyon as a child, and putting the family’s milk cows out to pasture there in the spring. yes yes
