C.D. Smith Drugstore (second location), Grand Junction, Colorado 1935 Fifth Street and Ute Avenue Grand Junction Mesa Colorado 81501 USA The second home of the C.D. Smith Drug Company was actually its third location. The first two C.D. Smith buildings were both at the same 5th and Main Street lot. The third building was constructed at 5th Street and Ute Avenue, and was designed to accommodate both a large wholesale drug business and laboratories that produced things like fertilizer. It was a large operation that included enough space to hold, according to a 1980 pamphlet published by the company, up to $500,000 in merchandise at any one time. Eventually, the company closed.
