Loma General Store, Loma, Colorado 1962 Loma Mesa Colorado USA The Loma Store was a grocery and mercantile store established in Loma, Colorado in 1962. It was established by Wilbur and Mildred Downey. They owned the store for about three years, with 2 ½ years in one location before moving to another. It was bought by a Wayne Luellen. It was then owned by Joseph and Ella Trujillo before being sold to Clyde and Alma Theobold in 1970. Their son Reford Theobold, who would go onto become mayor of Grand Junction, took over the store in 1975. At the time of the Theobold’s interview with the Mesa County Oral History Project in 1983, the store was still open. yes yes Loma Store
