River ferry, Palisade, Colorado East 4th Street at the Colorado River Palisade Mesa Colorado USA According to oral history interviewee and longtime area resident Ann Stokes, the ferry over the Colorado River in Palisade was located near the Seventh Day Adventist Church. If we go by Stokes’s description, the ferry was most probably located where East Fourth Street dead ends on the river. Nearby, says Stokes, was a small footbridge that crossed the river. The footbridge was removed sometime around 1910 and taken to Cameo, where it was used to cross the river there.
