Lloyd Ranch, Grand Mesa, Colorado 1928 Mesa Colorado USA The Lloyd Ranch was originally a homestead settled by Walter “Dick” Lloyd and Bertha (Robinson) Lloyd shortly after their marriage in 1928. The Lloyds lived first in a log cabin, initially a one-room shack, but the ranch grew along with Lloyd’s cattle business. Dick Lloyd worked for the E.D. Stewart Ranch when they first moved to the land (Bertha had grown up in the nearby town of Mesa), but soon worked for himself. The ranch eventually covered 26,000 acres through land acquisitions and came to within three miles of De Beque. Over the years, the Lloyds lived in different locations on their land, including the old Sisac place, which they purchased and sold during the Depression.
