Kiefer Extension Ditch, Mesa County, Colorado 1899 Mesa Colorado USA A roughly seventeen-mile-long irrigation ditch that took water from the Colorado River and allowed for the settlement of the area now known as Loma. According to the government of Mesa County, the ditch had been completed by 1899 (Loma Community Design Guidelines and Standards). It was built by Frank Kiefer and his brothers.
